SYSTEM OF VALIDATIONS WITH IRELAND
In primary school, no type of validation is necessary; simply upon returning to Spain, the child will enter the corresponding school year.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of ESO do not require any special validation process, we could call it homologation. If desired, the grades can be requested from the educational center.
From the 4th year of ESO, validation in Spain is necessary.
Transition Year / 4th ESO Validation
Students must choose two compulsory subjects (English/English Literature and Mathematics) and four optional subjects to choose from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Economics, French, Computer Science, Music, Religion, Art, Technical Drawing and Sports.
Validation of 5th Senior Cycle / 1st Baccalaureate
Students must choose two compulsory subjects (English/English Literature and Mathematics) and at least three elective subjects to choose from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Economics, French, Computer Science, Music, Religion, Art, Technical Drawing and Sports.
Validation of 6th Senior Cycle / 2nd Baccalaureate
Students must choose two compulsory subjects at higher level (English/English Literature and Mathematics) and at least four elective subjects at higher or ordinary level, to choose from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Economics, French, Computer Science, Music, Religion, Art, Technical Drawing, Accounting, Engineering, Business, etc. These subjects may vary depending on the school.
The subjects chosen (minimum six) must be passed. Of these, two must be of a higher level.
