From AMAIRLANDA, we recommend this course, as we consider it to be one of the great achievements of the Irish educational system, since the TRANSITION YEAR aims to make the student reflect on their professional future.

It is an optional course for Irish people themselves, but the vast majority of students take it, since it helps them enormously to have a broader vision of what to study in the future.

This course is the equivalent in Spain to 4th year of ESO.

We recommend taking the TRANSITION YEAR in Ireland because it is a practical school course that will allow students to discover new subjects that will help them decide where they want to focus their studies and will teach them to work as a team.

This academic course includes a "Work Experience" program  that takes place for 3 or 4 weeks throughout the academic year (it will depend on each school).

It is a less academic and more practical course that allows its students to discover new subjects that will help them decide on their higher education.

Its aim is to promote the personal, social, educational and vocational development of students, preparing them to be independent and responsible members of the community.

Most students decide to take the TRANSITION YEAR because, by having a system of continuous assessment without exams, they can focus more on learning English.
